Today's ring is called the "Favorite Color Ring" because the blue foam is one of my favorite colors, a form of Robin's Egg Blue. My niece gave me a bunch of foam last time I was down in South Carolina.... I set the little foamy in sterling silver.

RING No. 272

It is easy to take things for granted, especially intangible and invisible things. I have realized that I sometimes do this without even knowing. We often learn something new everyday, whether it be about the world, other people, places, or things. Personally, I learn about myself more everyday(In addition to many things). What makes me tick. What I really want out of life...etc...It is kind of sad that we only know ourselves fully so late in life, but I suppose that is how it goes.

Today's ring is invisible. Only a price tag exists. (the rings will be for sale at the end of the year) (Price Tag made of found paper, ink, and silk thread) I did this to illustrate that sometimes the most important things in life are priceless and intangible. For example: Friendship, Love, and Time. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the tangible things such as hugs, kisses, high fives, etc......but I think the intangible ones just don't get enough credit. I know I haven't always put as much value as I should into them. I sometimes find myself doubting things if I cannot see and feel them constantly. This is why faith and hope are so very important. I have learned this today. I knew it before now, but sometimes we need to realize how real these truths are. I was going title the ring "The I don't feel like making a Ring today" ring. But I think Invisible/Intangible Ring is much better. I pretty much just did not want to make a ring today....at all. whatsoever. point blank.....Mostly because I am not feeling well and I just have no energy. But also because my mind is all over the place.....there have been days that I didn't feel like making anything, but I pushed through it. This day was by far the worst.

Today was a pretty stressful, sad, and overwhelming day. After class, I came home and read for a while in bed, took a nap, and then sat in quiet reflection. I had a skype date with my mom scheduled after that, and was it ever the right time. I skyped for quite a while with her and it was so nice to hear a familiar friendly voice from home. I love it when my mom makes me laugh. She knows me better than anyone and I am so glad she is my mom.

PS: on a side random note.....I have recently found much enjoyment and satisfaction in YoYos...I encourage you to get a YoYo and start playing today. It is a nice thing to do when you are walking home from the studio, and as Katie Fisher said, it is a "Good Wholesome Activity"...I think I quoted that right....it was a few days ago.

Thank you for reading, Goodnight

RING No. 266

Tonight's ring is a pink Peruvian Opal set in Fine Silver with a Sterling Silver band. The opal looked like a jelly bean to me because of it's slightly mishapen form. I put little eyes on it to give it character. I would have to say the flavor of the jelly bean would be either Bubble Gum, Pink Lemonade, or Cotton Candy.

Thanks for reading!

Materials: Peruvian Opal, Fine Silver, and Sterling Silver, and enamel paint

RING No. 265

Hooray! As of today, I only have 100 more rings to go!.....I just got done skyping with my mom. It was nice to talk with her. I am pretty excited because she is coming to visit me in about 3 weeks!

Today was a pretty good day.....I gave a pin demo today that went pretty well. Lori, Jess, and I finally figured out what the terrible smell was that we previously thought was a dead animal hiding away. It was the trash can! hahaha....yeah we checked there first but evidently it was emanating from a hole at the bottom, so it is probably the can itself instead of whats in the bag. Ewwww!

I am about to go get a yummy burrito from my sweetheart, Dave at TT's.....I am starving!....Then its off to Karaoke! Yippee! Hahaha.

Anyways.....About 5 years ago I bought a box of old tools off ebay. There were all kinds of things! I sold some of them to other students, but most of them have become my favorites and my go to tools for everyday tasks. In that box was a tiny circular level. I set it in Fine silver for today's ring!

I call it the EmBEZELed Level Ring, hahaha get it? Because the level is Bezel set! :)

Materials: Level, Fine Silver, Sterling Silver
Dimensions: 1.25 x 1 x 1 inches

RING No. 264

Tonight's ring is made from Fine silver wire. (unlike sterling silver which is 92.5% pure, this is 99% pure) This ring may cause you to recall ring No. 144, and it should, because I am thinking about the same person I was then. I made No. 144 the day my Grandma passed away, vowing to never forget her. I think about her often and still get emotional, but lately I have thought an awful lot about her and had many dreams, some with very sad and dramatic parts. Before the Ring A Day series is done, I plan to make a very special ring dedicated to her.....I haven't done it yet because I want it to be perfect and beautiful and extremely well designed. I just felt like today I needed to create another "promise". I really miss my Nanu!

Thanks for reading, Goodnight Everyone

Materials: Fine Silver Wire

RING No. 263

My Student's critique for their stone settings was this morning. It went very well. I was pleased with most all of the work that they turned in.

I got to play football with Dave today and it was awesome. I am not very good, but he was patient and taught me how to throw, kick, and catch the ball. We also put together a Ghostbusters puzzle and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Puzzle. What fun I had!

Tonight's ring is a silver ring with pink pearls that dangle.

Thanks for Reading!

Materials: Sterling Silver, Fine Silver, and Pearls

RING No. 261

I got to watch some of the Browns game with Dave today. They won! I have been meaning to make a Browns ring anyways and so I thought today was the perfect day. Dave had on a #16 Josh Cribbs jersey today. I don't know much about Browns players (I am learning) but I know the most about Cribbs (because Dave told me a few things), thus the reason I put his number on the ring.

I still need to make an Indians ring and my Ohio Team Ring promise to myself will be fulfilled! :)
